I went to Thai Palace recently for the lunch buffet and walked out going, "Meh." I've definitely had better thai food. While the buffet was hot, the selection was rather limiited. On that particular day, they served a vegetarian pad thai, tempura vegetable, coconut tapioca pudding, egg rolls, cabbage soup, etc. I doubt I'll be back.

Absolutely loved the shrimp in red curry, just wish that the portions were a little bigger though. There's a buffet over lunch for 8 or 9 bucks as well.

Ten years ago, Thai Palace was a special place. Tasty Thai food in an unassuming setting. Sadly, it has been neglected in terms of cleanliness and employee training. Since February 2014, Thai Palace has been shut twice for failing food safety inspections (source: pafoodsafety.state.pa.us… ). If that weren't enough - and why wouldn't it be? - the restaurant is cluttered and tired. It just looks like those in authority have given up on Thai Palace. So, I have too.

I really wanted to go to Bangkok Wok, but my date wanted to come here instead. He said the first time he came here was pretty disgusting, then the 2nd time he came here his meal was amazing. The inside of the restaurant is very nice. We were actually the only people in here on a Sunday afternoon - I feel like that right there is a sign. If nobody is in the parking lot, how good is it really? We sat by the window, our waitress was very friendly to us (well of course, she had no customers all day probably). So I ordered the Pad Pak with the chicken, instead of rice I got noodles - cause I was so hungry for that. My date got the Wok Special - Garlic. Oh, my date ordered "Bamboo shoots" as apart of his meal and he didn't receive it. He thought it was alright, my meal sucked. We both ordered a "medium" on the spicy scale and it was just unbelievably too hot to eat. So our food wasn't even enjoyable on that rate as well. The waitress even came up to us and asked if our food was too spicy, and we said "yes we didn't think medium was that hot" and her reply? "Well it was good, right?" - yeah that calls for bad tip. Good job. They didn't have Pork Spring Rolls on their menu, only Veggie Spring Rolls - really? (BYOB) So, as we were going to leave I decide to stop in the bathroom, I turned on the only light switch hardly seen and only the vent came on. I walked back to the entrance and asked if she could turn on the light switch for me, kindly she finds it (which was the same switch) and turned it on and off multiple times until the light came on so dim that I could barely see still. I said it was okay and just used my iPhone flashlight. Ridiculous - get your light switch fixed until someone falls. Next time I'll stick with Bangkok Wok.

If you are in the mood for something different and by different I don't mean the average corale associated with many chinese buffet joints, this is the place in Camp Hill. There are better Thai restraunts out there for sure but not in this zip code.

My wife and I have shared dinner at Thai Palace many times over the years. It's had its ups and downs but has been on an upswing for a year or so. Tonight's visit was memorable. From the spring-roll appetizers to the Drunken Noodles and Pad Thai, the food was perfectly prepared. The server was prompt and friendly. An unexpected bonus was the live guitar of the very talented Tony Anacan, whose mixed bag of jazz standards and Latin-infused pieces complemented the great food!

Owner was our server and was the sweetest man ever! He made our dining experience very pleasant. One of the very few times I've ever seen an owner so dedicated to making his customers happy. The food was equally as excellent and flavorful with very gracious portion sizes. My favorite dishes were the penang curry and tofu basil. The live music also helped to create a great ambiance and the guitar player was super friendly as well!

A coworker and I decided to try the Palace one night when my better half was out of town. We'd all gone to Pakha's in Dillsburg and thought it would be nice to try something closer to home. Anyhow, the food was amazing and came very quickly -- we both got curried chicken and agreed that the food edged out Pakha's. Inside, the restaurant was very quiet with ample seating and comfortable booths. I sat facing west, however, and was nearly blinded by the setting sun. Thicker curtains would certainly help keep diners comfortable and would probably reduce the heat inside the restaurant where it was bordering on stifling. The service, eh, my coworker asked for ginger ale with his meal and had to ask a second time and then wait an additional five minutes or so before a server brought it to our table. The biggest issue that will stop us from going back wasn't big at all -- it was the small portion sizes. We are bigguns and left wanting about another third of an entrée each. Instead we went to the Dairy Queen across the street and got sundaes. Overall, great food, nice, quiet atmosphere but slightly lackadaisical service and small portion sizes.

Awesome Place...very good service and reasonable pricing. This is the first restaurant where I found Buffet and it's pretty cheap. Liked the variations options for spice level and the quantity they serve is also very good. Kudos!

I had been wanting to try the lunchtime buffet for awhile at Thai Palace...and was finally able to yesterday as I was off work! The food was eh. The soup (Tom Kai) was ok, though it tasted out of a can. All of the food on the buffet was somewhat warm, not hot. There weren't many dishes, and most were vegetarian. There were only two dishes with chicken, and that was the extent of the meat. The spring rolls were good...and I liked the sauces that were available. Everything tasted like it was poured out of a can or a frozen bag. One of the sauces tasted chemical-like...like the juice from the canned veggies wasn't drained or something. They ended up charging me $5.95 for my three year old sharing food, in which she took maybe 6 bites bites. After I complained, the server did remove the charge. The food was completely lackluster, not worth the $9.99 price. There are much much better places around here for better Thai. I don't recommend this place at all...

Have not been here for awhile but the last few times it was just OK..I would have to agree with the bulk of the reviews here. I see in one review a reference to some other places having greasy food...maybe it depends on what you get but I never experienced overly greasy foods at Bangkok 56 or Bangkok Wok...never.. I really see no reason to go here when you have better options not too far away.

Thai Palace is our favorite! Their food is very affordable and flavorful, the service is consistently good. They have a great lunch buffet during the week, which is a good opportunity to try different dishes if you are new to Thai food. On the regular menu you can order any dish with chicken, beef, seafood, etc. in addition to duck and tofu! My favorites are the tom kha soup (their soups are the best), mango stirfry, and pineapple curry. BYOB. I recommend all the die-hard Bangkok 56 and Bangkok Wok (too greasy for me!) fans to give Thai Palace a try

Very good food and good service, would eat here again. Many of the curries are good tasting and well made, if you want spicy you can get it spicy if not you don't need to which is nice.

My husband and I went to Thai Palace because we had a coupon and had not tried any Thai food in the area yet. We figured it was as good a place as any to start exploring the region's Thai offerings. Our food wasn't bad, but not even close to great. There was a strange aftertaste I just couldn't place. I'm no stranger to Thai food, but this was new. Then our waitress who up until then had been very friendly tried to argue with us that the coupon was no good. It had just been issued and had a 12/2015 expiration date. After much hemming and hawing it was finally accepted. I'd rate this place average to slightly below average, coming from Manhattan. I will definitely try other options in the area before returning.

Thai Palace is a really great place. I've been there a few times and their food is always delicious and incredibly flavorful. I've tried the garlic and basil wok specials and their drunken fried rice, all of which were great. They also offer a variety of curries and numerous vegetarian dishes. Their Thai tea and Thai coffee are really, really good too and go quite well with a spicy dish (since they contain cream). Their desserts are very nice and not too expensive either. Thai Palace is a great place to go with a group and it's also good for a date as well. Here's a few quick tips for you: They take Restaurant.com certificates, so definitely check those out before you come and the place is BYOB. I highly recommend this place and hope everyone enjoys it as much as my friends and I do! :)

The Sunday buffet doesn't feature much, but gave me a chance to try Thai food. However, it is not a secret that they've had quite a few health code violations so be warned, they are not up to code.

The Sunday buffet isn't too extensive but it does change every week. Everything was very good, worth the money for sure.

I thought the lunch buffet at Thai Palace was pretty decent, weekdays it's 8 dollars per person. I'm giving it 3.5 stars. The owner and our waitress were extremely nice, and unlike other thai places (pakha's, kanlaya, bangkok 56) it wasnt packed with people. The decourations are your usual for a thai restaurant: tourism posters, traditional pictures of the king, elephants and paintings of rural farm workers. The buffet itself was fair, not super large: Salad, Tom Yum Soup, Eggrolls, Wings, there main dishes were pad thai, curry chicken, tofu & vegetables and for dessert they had fried banana. They also have dinner and a la carte service.

This is not the best Thai place in greater Harrisburg, however their Sun-Fri buffet is decent and affordable. We had gone on Sunday and got there before 2PM (buffet lasts 'till 2.30). Most dishes were gone by 2 PM, soups were very cold. When we asked "when we'll be able to try more dishes", then said, that they were not planning to bring out some more, but since we've asked - they will. There were other guests in the restaurant, but I guess they did not care. So, do ask for refills of buffet dishes, or you'll wait forever. Also, restaurant.com certificates don't work for Buffet, and you would not know about it 'till check out. If I have to order from the menu - I'd rather dine in other Thai places :/

The quality and service has been inconsistent in the past, but recently has been steadily good. I believe there has been a change in management/ownership. I love the buffet for lunch. Very fresh and generous with high quality ingredients. Great selection. For a more formal dinner, I still lean to some other Thai restuarants, but I do have friends that swear by this place.

I ignored all the warning signs to try this place, including the disapproval of my thai coworker. I just had to try the buffet! Unfortunately, Thai Palace lived up to it's average reputation . The buffet was not that big, maybe 4 main dishes, spring rolls, two soups and a few small desserts. Everything was pretty standard but you could tell it was catered to the American palate. Not to mention there wasn't a single thai person eating there which is probably a bad thing when eating at a thai restaurant. At 9 bucks for the lunch buffet I wouldn't go back here, especially with Bankok Wok right down the road. On a positive note, the decor was pretty nice and the service was good, just not the best option for thai food in the area.

I've been coming to this place off an on ever since they had purple walls and tacky decor...Wait a minute, they still have the decor, but oh well. The menu has changed slightly and my favorite dish "Garlic Chicken" isn't made the way it used to be but it's still tasty. I'm now a fan of the mango chicken/pork/beef. It's got a good flavor and pretty adequate in size. A Thai tea to wash it down with and a coconut custard dessert is how finishing it off works for me.

Adequate is the only term that I can use for this place. The food isn't bad, but it's inconsistent. One thing may be good and the next not so hot. It even varies from day to day. The curry you had on Monday that tasted pretty good will be just sort of blah on Thursday. I don't know if it's a chef issue, an ingredient issue, or if they just fly by the seat of their pants instead of following recipes. The buffet is rather lacklustre and I think it's a little too expensive. 've been there for lunch and dinner, for business and pleasure, with just adults and with kids. The service has always been decent, although sometimes we ended up having to chase down a server to get something like extra napkins or chopsticks. It I have a choice, I prefer to head over the Bangkok Wok (not too far up Carlisle Pike) because their food is at least one step above and the prices are pretty comparable.

Some of the best phad thai I've had in Central PA. The decor is nice and the service was great.

I came here about a month ago. The service was decent. Very nice environment. Unfortunately the food was not what I expected. All the dishes that we order really lacked the flavor most Thai places have. The yellow curry was tasted the best of all the dishes. My friend really liked the soup. However, it needed quite a bit of lime juice and it was not that spicy. The Pad Thai needed a lot of lime juice. This was my friend's first time tasting Thai food. When it came, he disliked the pad thai; however after asking the waiter for some lime, he really loved it. My friend and I will probably come back here, but we will probaly bring a few limes with us.

I've only eaten here a couple of times, and normally I would order the Pad Thai when trying a Thai restaurant the first time just for comparison purposes. For some reason, I haven't done so here. The first time I had the Drunken Noodles, which were pretty good. The second time I also had a noodle dish (with thin stick noodles), and it was just so so. They forgot to include the chicken in my dish that time around, but they did knock off half the price. I ordered both dishes at a level six for heat. The food was still very mild. And a bit bland all around. I'll definitely go back , however, and turn up the heat volume and try some other dishes like their curries and the Pad Thai. The dining room is spacious and comfortable, with a bit of the usual tackiness :). The staff is friendly. The prices are quite reasonable and they serve good-sized portions. It's BYOB and they will bring you an ice bucket for your wine. They apparently have a lunch buffet, but haven't tried it. I'll be returning here to check it out further.

Good pad thai, needs more seasoning but I like mine on the really spicy side.

Solid Thai restaurant. Had curry "HOT", kid as well. Nice heat level at that choice. Won't be afraid to go to "11" (+2 hot on the menu menu, I think) . But I eat Sriracha on pancakes sooooo... Too much fresh basil on the "Red curry", kid ordered it an wasn't thrilled (neither was I when I tasted it) but the King Prick was really, REALLY good. Had a coupon, there out there. Staff was beyond gracious and helpful, and even flirted with my old ass... Recommended!

Spring rolls appetizer was ok. Chicken satay w/ peanut sauce was very good! Chicken coconut soup was yummy! Pad ba me peanut noodle bowl was huge and wonderful. I got it mild and it was comforting. Peanut curry chicken with medium heat was spiced perfectly. We had plenty to take home, too. Would highly recommend!!!!

Pretty good. Huge portions. Ordered the Beef Pad Seeiew and it was awesomeeeeeee. The Chicken Pad Thai was a bit on the sweet side. I also tried the Curry Grilled Chicken with Peanut Sauce and The Spring Rolls on the Appetizers, they were pretty good. Thai Iced Tea was excellent and they offer refills at a discounted price but I couldn't even finish the first one. The waiter didn't bring our drinks until way after our appetizers arrived.

Great food and a fun place. Went here for a dinner when my mom came up to visit. I got thai wraps and pad thai and they were both so great!!! I really liked this place. The servers didn't speak the clearest English, but they got the job done and tended to our needs well. The place was neatly decorated, yet outdated and a little old. Still, I'm a little shocked by the poor reviews. Maybe it was the price. Maybe my Thai standards are low.
